@ismail vilehand, bence bunun sebeplerinden biri, özellikle internet yaygın değilken Cannibal Corpse’un gerek ismi, gerek de şu tür tişörtlerdeki kanlı imajıyla pek çok insanın kafasında sertlik ve ekstremlikle özdeşleşmiş olması.

Buna benzer bir yanılsama Cradle of Filth’in özellikle doksanlarda çok ekstrem bir black metal grubu olarak görülmesinde de yaşanıyordu. İmkânlar kısıtlı olunca (Türkiye’de satılan metal tişörtleri, herkesin her albüme erişemiyor oluşu, vs.) bazı gruplara olduklarından daha fazla anlam yüklendi. Bu müziği 1991′den beri dinleyen bir dinleyici olarak, doksanlarda çok çok geniş bir kitle için en sert grup CC, en sıra dışı grup da CoF’tu. Hele CoF; Metallica, Megadeth, Maiden, Slayer, Pantera, vb. grupların ardından uzak ara en çok tişörtü giyilen gruptu.
Tabii bu dalganın günümüze dek uzanması nasıl oldu ondan emin değilim.
CC’nin brutal olarak algılanmasındaki bir diğer etki de Corpsegrinder’ın boynu olabilir.

Anathema’nın en baba doom metal grubu olarak görüldüğü, nu-metale hardcore dendiği ve senin de belirttiğin gibi CoF’un en uçuk, CC’nin en sert grup olarak görüldüğü bir devir yaşandı. ancak direk hayata sınırsız internetle, tabletle, ayfonla başlayan neslin, death metal türünün en önemli gruplarından birini alt türde ifade etmesi bana acayip geliyor. ki eskiden “CC grindcore grubu” diyen bile vardı ciddi ciddi.

bir de ecnebilerin death growl dediği vokale biz hep brutal vokal diyoruz. brutal vokal yapan grup bir de death metal yapıyorsa hooop al sana brutal death metal. bu da etkili olmuş olabilir.

@Ufuk Sönmez, death growl ve brutal vokal olayı da dediğin gibi ciddi sıkıntılı bir durum. misal “brutal thrash metal” olarak adlandırılan bir alt tür var, 80ler sonu 90lar başı dönemde diğer thrash gruplarından daha sert olup, death metal sınırına yanaşmayan (Demolition Hammer, Morbid Saint, Exhorder, Attomica, vs vs) gruplar için kullanılan bir terim, ben yıllarca bunu anlatmaya çalışırken helak oldum. adam diyor ki, “brutal vokal yok. sen neden buna brutal thrash diyorsun?”. büyük eziyetler çektim. öyle böyle değil.

@ismail vilehand, COF’un en uçuk CC’nin en sert grup olarak bilindiği dönemlerde internet olmadığı için metali de blue jeanden takip ediyorduk ve son sayfası güya sert gruplardı. Tek sayfanın 7/8i piyasa metal grup haberleri kalan kısmında da underground metal haberi olurdu. İşte orada d necrophagiste grind(core!) dendiği için o tarz grindcore kaaldı belli bir kesimde =)

@Shameless, Blue Jean dergisideki metal safyasının adı “kara kutu”ydu değil mi? Hatırladığım kadarıyla genelde Blind Guardian, Dream Theater gibi gruplarla alakalı şeyler oldu death metale pek rastlanmazdı. Birde Blue Jean dergisindeki metal incelemeleri evlere şenlikti. Mudvayne incelemesi yazıp şöyle gürültülü böyle sert diye tarif ediyolardı. Grup adını söylemeden kritiği birisine okusan Mudvayne’i bestial black metal grubu zanneder hahahaha.

@ismail vilehand, bu gözler “Brutal vokal sevmediğimi bilirsiniz” diye başlayan Opeth incelemesi gördü. Hem de doksanların ortasında.
Bir de 3-4 satırlık kritikler vardı. %90 oranında albümü açıp ilk kez dinlerken yazılırlardı. Aynen şöyle kritikler vardı; mesela October Tide incelemesi olsun:
“October Tide İsveçli bir grup. Daha önce dinlememiştim ama kapağı ilginç geldi. Zaten bir sürü promo CD olunca kapağı ilgimi çekenler öncelikli oluyor. İlk şarkı güzel girdi, damarı vermiş elemanlar. İkinci şarkıda biraz Katatonia havası var. Kısacası hüzünlü ve ağır bir albüm. Daha yazılacak 9 albüm daha var. Katatonia ve Anathema sevenler es geçmesin.” 7/10
Espri diye söylemiyorum aynen bu formatta incelemeler vardı. Yarım sayfada 10-12 albüm incelenirdi böyle.
